Daniel McCann

Settlement

McKanns

Grants

D-90 (100 acres, 13 Aug 1789)

Daniel McCann. Origin: Loyalist.

Daniel McCann received a grant for 100 acres in the current settlement of McKanns on Long Island on 13 August 1789. It was bounded by the land of Patrick Miller (origin unknown), Thomas Young (Old Inhabitant), and the sea on two sides. We were not able to find his name in records of American Loyalists, but because we also could not find the McCann surname in early Bahamian records, and quit rent on this land was waived for ten years, we assume that Daniel McCann was a Loyalist.
