Give a brief description of the inhabitant. The man. The legend. Do we know any significant details about these guys? If yes, great! Include that here. If not, then this can just be ignored.

Grants
D-73 (30 acres, 3 Jan 1789)
James Pemberton. Origin: Loyalist.
We believe that James Pemberton was a private in Samuel Campbell’s Regiment in the North Carolina Militia. Jesse Goldsmith, another Long Island land grantee, also served as a private in that Regiment. We did not find this surname in early Bahamian records.
Pemberton received a grant of 30 acres in the Clarencetown area of Long Island on 3 January 1789. John Gibson’s 300 acre land grant in this area states that it is bounded by land owned by James Pemberton.
