James Stevens. Origin: Loyalist.
James received a grant of 400 acres in the Scrub Hill South area of Long Island on 15 May 1788. The grant, which states that he was a Loyalist, includes land that was bounded by that of Dugald Forbes, Denniston, Taylor, and Begbie. This land was later commuted to George R. Knowles.
James Stevens is listed as a member of the Board of American Loyalists on the 8 May 1786 meeting of the board in Nassau.
