John Holland. Origin: Loyalist.
John Holland fought for the British army in both South Carolina and North Carolina as a Private. In 1784, he is listed (in the Return of Disbanded Officers and Soldiers of the Late South Carolina Royalists) as being amongst the refugees who were disbanded officers and soldiers. In addition, on that list is James White, also a Long Island land grantee. Holland received a grant of 100 acres in the Miley area of Long Island on 28 July 1788.
