Hester Darville. Origin: Old Family Name.

Hester Darville was granted 40 acres of land in the Lower Deadmans Cay area of Long Island on 28 July 1789, twenty acres of which were later granted/sold to George Cartwright on 9 August 1873. The Darville family has a long and illustrious history in the Bahamas.

Note: the last name is written “Darvil” (1740 Census), “Darvill,” and “Darville” (1731 Census).
