James Bruce. Origin: Old Family Name.
James Bruce was granted 40 acres in the Miley area of Long Island on 21 September 1790. It was bounded by the land of Loyalists George Braker, John Holland, and William McAlpine, and by the sea. Presumably Bruce was of Scottish decent.
