Nathaniel Newton. Origin: Old Family Name.
The surname Newton is found in the 1731 Wood Rogers Census, Nassau, New Providence. Nathaniel received a land grant of 40 acres in Lower Deadmans Cay on 28 July 1789. Benjamin Newton, an Old Inhabitant who we believe was related to Nehemiah, also received a land grant on the northern tip of Long Island, near the land of Henry Glenton, who married Amelia, daughter of Benjamin Newton.
