Charles Ellis. Origin: Old Family Name.

Charles Ellis married Elizabeth Culmer on New Providence on 14 March 1787. He was granted 220 acres in Pinders, Long Island.

Elizabeth Ellis, daughter of Nicholas Ellis, had been married to Leonard Bowles of East Florida on New Providence 5 March 1768. Though we do not know the relationship between these people, we know that the Ellis family was present in the Bahamas before 1770.
