Elizabeth Bowles. Origin: Old Inhabitant.

According to records from the Anglican Church Diocese, Elizabeth Ellis (born on Long Island) married Leonard Bowles, who was born in East Florida and an ensign in the Bahamas Militia, on 5 March 1768 on New Providence. They had a son named Thomas, who was born 29 September 1769 on the island of New Providence.

Elizabeth Bowles was granted 200 acres on Long Island on 4 July 1789, in what is today the Bunches Settlement, presumably as a widow.
