Jeremiah Darville. Origin: Old Inhabitant.

Jeremiah Darville was born about 1749 on Eleuthera. He was granted 420 acres in the area of Deadmans Cay on Long Island on 17 July 1788. His land was bounded by that of Mary Major, Sweeting Maycock, and on two sides by the sea. The Darville family has a long and illustrious history in the Bahamas.

Note: the last name is written “Darvil” (1740 Census), “Darvill,” and “Darville” (1731 Census).
