Joseph Pritchard (Prichard). Origin: Old Inhabitant

Joseph was born 17 May 1760 on New Providence to Joseph Prichard and Catherine Burroughs. He had a brother, James Prichard, possibly baptized in November of 1760. On 23 July 1788, Joseph was granted 80 acres in the Lower Deadmans Cay area of Long Island. The surname (spelled “Prichard”) is listed in the Woodes Rogers 1731 Census for New Providence. We believe that Joseph Pritchard was an Old Inhabitant.
