Thomas Bill. Origin: Old Inhabitant.

Thomas Bill received 57 acres on Long island in what is now the Burnt Ground settlement on 1 February 1789. The surname Bill is found in the 1740 Census, and a will was probated for a John Bill who had a son Thomas Bill in 1760. Thomas’ land grant exempted quit rent payment for only two years, indicating he was an Old Inhabitant. Nothing more is known about him at this time.
