Alexander McQueen. Origin: Unknown

An Alexander McQueen joined the 82nd Regiment in 1778 in Scotland to fight for the British in the American Revolution. However, we also found a record of an Alexander McQueen being granted 300 acres of land in East Florida on 7 September 1772. Once arrived in the Bahamas, McQueen was a merchant. His wife’s sisters were Helen McLeod and Isabella McDonald, tying these Long Island Scottish families together. McQueen received a 200-acre parcel of land in the Roses area of Long Island, but with the conflicting information, we were not able to deduce his origin.
